They are not critical when choosing a board, as almost every rider often combines riding styles, depending on riding preferences and snow conditions. But still, picking up your equipment, it is better to have an accurate idea of what style you will ride and at which ski resort.
Rider | Usually, this is experienced person, who constantly monitors the weather forecast and is in anticipation of great snowfall. Arriving at the resort without a forecast, like a real hunter looking for areas with pristine snow. Snowboard |Powder snowboard is a special type of snowboard for riding in deep snow. It has a pronounced directional shape, where the nose is much longer and wider than the tail. The displacement of inserts from the center of the working area is more than 20 mm, since this helps to unload the nose to make board floats better. POWDER
Rider | Loves to ride both in powder and on groomed snow. Basically, the advantage is given to ride off-piste, in snow gutters (trenches), from steep cliffs, ride at high speeds, in pits and between trees. Snowboard | The board is aggressive, directional, stiff and designed for fast ride, carving, backcountry, hard snow and even powder. Typical characteristics:
FREERIDE
Rider | Prefers high-speed riding on groomers or backcountry with hard carving elements, direct jumps and riding in natural gutters like in a half pipe. Snowboard | It looks like all-mountain, but is closer to freeride than to freestyle. It is well suited for aggressive ride everywhere. Typical characteristics:
ALL MOUNTAIN FREERIDERS/AGGRESSIVE FREERIDERS
Rider |Rides everywhere. The opportunity to completely run the mountain; on groomed snow, backbountry and and even in a snow park. Different stance arrangement (central or setback) helps to switch between riding styles. Snowboard | Designed to perform a bit of everything. It is necessary to seek a compromise, according to preferences choosing a snowboard. Typical characteristics:
ALL MOUNTAIN
Rider | Prefers to ride in the snow park, on groomed tracks and a little in backcountry. Riding off-piste, it is preferable to use the mountain landscapes as park elements to perform various tricks. There is a great advantage to ride in switch position. In the park, most of the time is devoted to jumps and pipe ride. Snowboard | Іs the intermediate between freestyle and all-mountain snowboard. ALL MOUNTAIN/FREESTYLE
Rider | Rides mainly in the snow park. A great advantage is given to jumps, skating on park elements and rails as well as performing various tricks on the plane outside the park. If given the opportunity, than riding in half pipe is also a priority. Snowboard | Designed to perform jumps, spins, flips, rail ride, butters, and various tricks. FREESTYLE
Rider | For lovers to ride the park figures / rails and overcoming street obstacles. Snowboard | Designed to overcome street obstacles and low park elements such as rail, fan box and other park elements. As a rule, it is very soft and necessarily symmetrical. Typical characteristics:
